I'm having trouble deciding which way I want to go as far as a single turbo set up. I am wanting a very streetable car that spools up pretty quick. I only drive mine about twice a week around town but I enjoy getting up to speed very quickly. Any ideas on which setup would be the best? I have been thinking of the GT35/40 so far. I'm wanting to get around 400rwhp and I also don't want to turn the boost up a lot to get there. Just trying to get my list of mods wrote down before I mistakenly buy something that will turn out useless later on. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Price of the setup is always an issue but I don't mind to spend a little extra for the best.

i think you should do a street port and then do a TO4E. the street port should put you over 320 at least, with stock twins. My 13b is street ported with stock twins with 70k on the twins and it defintly gets up and goes. i am planning a TO4E upgrade which should have great response.but if you want really good response i suggest something ball-bearing. it might be a little pricey but really worth it for the response.

I figured I'd go ahead and spend the extra cash for a ball-bearing turbo. Never really looked into porting

I thought I read somewhere that porting will make the car idle jumpy. I'll have to look into that... Thanks for the info.

Now I'm confused... Sorry but could you explain please. I thought faster spool up would be better. Will it drop off quicker or something??? Also are you saying ball-bearing = bad??? Thanks

I think he means the price isn't worth the quicker spool-up?

I've been getting tempted to piece together something involving a t04... since they're mad cheap to rebuild. It's gonna be awhile before I go single turbo though.

Porting is definetly something you should look into. There are many types of ports, and a mild streetport will not affect idle and driveability, but will improve performance considerably.
