i guess the smell i was describing is more like burning oil rather than rich fuel mixture smell, its not eye burning

 

are there any 3.5" ID high flow cats sold?

 

This may be a new thread that should've been obvious. We all like the rotary sound....dont want to lose it but to keep it down and clean up our rich dump with out totally killing the HP would be something.Here in LA. we dont have enforcement and smog test but I lived in Cal. so I know many of you guys have to pass smog there. Maybe members who have tuned down the noise and the eye watering ,throat swelling mixture can offer some cats or other things that have helped!Oh and dont forget now a 4" pipe is all the rage.

yes

 

My friend and I both installed metal substrate cats on our single t fds at the same time. Neither one of us noticed a difference in performance. The exhaust smell is gone, the volume is about the same, but the sound quality has improved a bit (less rasp).

Random Tech makes 3.5" and 4" in/out versions of their metallic substrate cat according to their web site. Martel Brothers carries the 3.5" and smaller sizes, but I didn't see the 4" size listed.

i actually saw the listing for the 4" its on the last page second to the top.



im def. gunna do high flow route... now only thing is how big should i go? would bigger mean cleaner and more flow?



ccarlisi... what size cat do you have?

 

Mine has a 4" core with 3.5" inlets. I believe the company is called Dynamax. Frankly, all the cores I've seen look the same; 4" canister with taper down ends going to 2.5-3.5."

 

so i guess getting 4" inlet and outlet, and getting 4"to3" reducers is a good waste of money huh

 

you can get a large chamber and still get 3" IN/OUT
