I agree that single turo is the best. Not that twin turbo is or not as good, a true twin turbo setup is awesome and has some advantages but a aftermarket single compared to the hunk of **** that mazda bolted on the engine in the FD.............hahahah there is no comparison.

If you are running 350hp plus on your stock twins then they are beyond their efficiency point and is creating excess heat and blah blah blah..... therefore by bolting on a good single turbo you engine will be more efficient and look better and be easier to maintain.

I drive a FC and I had the stock single on there boostin 14-16psi for years, then I got a High flow turbine, the power levels of the high flow at boost 6-7psi were almost the same as the stock one at 15 psi but without a doubt the high flow turbine was faster and felt much better. Then I turned the boost up on the high flow to 15 psi...........hahahahahahah a

If stock turbos are so good then why are they stock......

well, i wasn't talking about the stock setup.. but i was refering to the m2 ball bearing upgrade... i've never driven a single... but i could only imagine how it would be to drive something that has no low end... then everthing hits you all at once when you hit 4k rpm... i just think that the fd is a very balance car, 50/50 weight and all. i think we all just like our setup different... kinda like everyone likes to put wider tires in the back... and i would too if i went single... but i would like to have the m2 upgrade running at about 16-17 psi, pumping out about 400 rwhp... running 265's all around. to me i think that is a very well balance car, plus you don't lose the feeling the car was built to have... balance!!! best of luck to finding what you want.... just think about how are you going to drive your car.

i've been in a upgraded twin turbo car.... i wasn't impressed. boost control of the single turbo cars impresses me ALOT.... i can hold a rock steady 10psi on my FD all day long. 10psi is like 350rwhp..... :bigok:

Yeah really if your HP goal is only 400hp there is no reason to have lag!!! I dont remember any cars on the circuit racing with the stock turbos and they all seem pretty balanced to me.

as far as tires go, me I run 9J rims all the way around with 225/45-17 tires I guess If I had a FD then I might go to 235's, maybe. Of course this car only rarely get driven on the street and that is just to get me to the mountains to race...hehe For the street I drive a automaic FC with only a air cleaner and muffler for performance mods.

Trust me...that whole Lag thing...BS...if you've never driven an FD w/non-sequential...the lag is EASY to deal with. My car builds and builds and let's just say that the power is exponential....

AND...the sequential turbo's are so small...seriously...

Turbo lag?!? Turbo lag is what guys with n/a cars feel all day long. At least with a big ol' turbo you have something to look forward to after it's done accelerating like a n/a car.

Damn...that's a good way of putting it. I push the gas down at 3000 rpms and I can just FEEL the car wanting to go...by the time that 5000 rpms hit, well...I'm holding on...
