Mockup of dimensions of the FC unit, we are going to change quite a few things it looks. The FC unit will stick out an addition 3 inches from the engine flange, the to4 flange is going to be raise at the same angle and addition 2.5" and the wastegate is going to be redone. We are also going to push the to4 flange an addition 1" forward to make sure anysize turbine housing will fit. We plan on taking apart one of my T2's this monday/tuesday and getting more precise measurments and then we will start the process.
Comitatus, here is a t06 1.58 turbine housing pictured, you're turbo will definatly fit. |
The addition 2.5" raise of the to4 flange will more than clear the frame rail. The duct tape is simulating the frame rail. Monday/Tuesday I will have a mockup on my FC.

Smaller 1.0 To4 turbine housing.

Ok cool....it looks like the additional inches will help out a lot for the FC's.
BTW...are these equal length runners? |

very good question. |
On the Fd unit they are not. They will be closer on the FC, but not by much. From the past several years I have been on the boards from what I have gathered it doesn't seem to matter. And with the space restrictions it can't really be done, if large turbos are used. I specifically remember RiceRacing I believe it was saying he didn't notice any difference, and I quote," the exhaust pulses come out like Mike Tyson". Anyhow at $500 a pop on the engine dyno, I currently am resticting to our models agaist current units on the market.
I am currently trying to acquire a crashed FC for mockup testing. |
Got a progress reports on these?
|
Well I put the Fd manifold on my FC to figure out final dimesions. Still working on the manifold itself.
|
Im anxious to see how these are coming....
|
they are nearing completion of the FC unit last i talked to him. He is also currently installing a TO4S on a friends car with a HKS manifold on it, dynoing the car, then putting his manifold on it to see the power gains. Will be interesting to see.
