I'm wondering if anyone has made or seen someone make 500rwhp+ on pump gas with a streetported engine with NO water/alc inj, ect.

If so do you have any idea what type turbo they were running?

T-70, T-72, T-76? Ptrim? Qtrim? turbine a/r?

Have any idea what rpm they were hitting 17psi at or what rpm they started making some power?

Thanks for any info,

STEPHEN

I *think* Jason from the rx7store did it. I could be wrong though.. He's running some upgraded T78 and a huge streetport.

jspecracer7 02-03-2004 04:28 PM

I think IGY did with his bridgeport T67(turbonetics, not greddy)

turbovr6 02-03-2004 04:38 PM

Vosko was damn close, but car got killed before he could tune more, and turn up the boost

94touring 02-03-2004 04:58 PM

There was that one guy from Australia over on the club that hit 475rwhp with a t04s. Seems like he was in the 17-18psi range.

Yea, he was running race gas @ 19psi.

Does anyone around here have a T72 or T76 with some dyno charts I can check out???

STEPHEN

IGY 02-03-2004 05:39 PM

I was running a 1/2 bridge at 18-19 psi with a 67-1 AR 1.15 p trim. I was using 89 octane gas and no water injection. I never put it on the dyno, but I can guarantee it was over 500rwhp. When you are embarassing 6 and 700hp gtr's you really don't care what the dyno says.

sidewinderx7 02-03-2004 05:44 PM

19 psi on 89 octane? lol.. insane!!

toddp31 02-03-2004 06:00 PM

BP all day https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif

vosko 02-03-2004 06:22 PM

18-20 psi on my setup with it tuned on pump gas would have been over 500rwhp........

igy that is amazing

hope you dont mind, I'm going to shoot you a PM

You know if less people were worried about going above 15psi, there would actually be dyno sheets over 450rwhp on pump gas.

IGY 02-03-2004 10:37 PM

At the time I was running that setup I was of a mind that if it blew it blew and I would turn the boost down a little. I would not ever try that again without water injection. With the wi I have seen higher boost, Dragon was boosting 24 psi.

94touring 02-03-2004 10:40 PM

For the longest time when I ran the apexi kit, my boost would hit 20 or slightly more then bleed down to 18psi by redline. Then with the t62-1 I had it solid at 18psi across the board. The guy who bought the car said the engine just blew. It had over 35k miles on it, not bad when you think about it.

SPOautos 02-04-2004 09:14 AM

Yea, 35K isnt bad at all for a engine your working the **** out of and hitting 18-20psi. Hell that would last me 2-3 years and I'd prob rebuild it just for the hell of it after that much time.

I dont expect mine to live past about 12K miles, I figure pulling the engine will be a once a year thing lol

BTW - 94touring, how much power did you make with a T62-1 @ 18psi?

STEPHEN

94touring 02-04-2004 10:28 AM

Yeah that engine lasted about 2 and a half years. I was never able to dyno the T62-1. I dynoed the apexi at 15psi back when I had first put it on at 385rwhp with 350rwtq. The power difference between the two turbo's was enormous though.

fdracer 02-04-2004 02:44 PM

not reliably

Not reliably what?

redfdforme 02-05-2004 08:32 PM

i'm running a t66 on my 93 and kd rotory got just about 385-390 at the wheels with 14lbs.with the mod skip put in it it will run 20lbs and be damn near 500rwhp on 93 octane.the engine was just rebuilt so he wants me to put 500 miles on it before he puts the full boost into it so i can't give a dyno sheet or even tell you exactly what it will run till then. i'll be running 5-8 lbs for a little while.

can't put any miles on it because of the ******* weather,it's still stranded at kd.

when will spring be here??? lol lol

If Japan pump gas counts yes. I have seen it on a couple FDs, big street ports one with a T04R and one with a T-51R(BB) Tunned down, able to get 700hp on race gas.

FikseRxSeven 02-06-2004 12:11 AM

what octane is pump gas in japan?

here in jersey the highest you can get is 94octane

jspecracer7 02-06-2004 05:19 AM

95 and 100 I think

94touring 02-06-2004 10:21 AM

There were stations in NC that sold 103.

Midnightdriver 02-06-2004 10:51 AM

I could get 102 at the pump almost everywhere where I lived. they just called it "haiayi"

SPOautos 02-06-2004 11:05 AM

I'm in Alabama....there is a Ammoco down the road from me where I can get 112 and 116 at the pump. The 112 is I think $4.75 and the 116 is $5.50. Which is actually pretty good prices.

STEPHEN

94touring 02-06-2004 11:34 AM

Av-Gas, which is 100LL at the airport is 2.12 right now.

treceb 02-06-2004 01:16 PM

yeah let us know how the anti detonation thing goes...

im assuming thats the mod skip put in your car....

i beleive sunoco is the only one that sells the 94 octane in jersey...

you can get 100 ron which is like 95-96 in the states. There used to be 104 available at a couple of gas stations which would have been 99-100 in the states, but I haven't seen it for a while.

Don't you mean Haioku. Haiyai = fast.

Hugh always got gas at the Jomo that we always go to to wash our cars/hang out. Is that one a 104 pump or a 100 pump?

kahren 02-07-2004 02:36 PM

i have yet to see a dyno chart iwth a decent power band with a turbo thats EFFICIENT at 500 rwhp at somewhere between the 15-20 psi.

Look up Jason from the rx7 club, he put down 500 and something rwhp at 19psi with his t-78. There are a few other guys in the same category.

you can get sunoco cam2 racing gas which is 100 octane at some pumps, i know lyndhurst has one and i think point pleasant does too.

i though someone said that jason ran race gas, if he did then i meant to see one with the pump gas

94touring 02-08-2004 09:38 AM

He did do it on race gas, but race gas is more of a safety factor than horsepower booster.

Kaotic Dan 02-08-2004 02:20 PM

Just so you guys know. You gennerally want to get race gas out of a drum as opposed to the pump. Vented in ground tanks cause the octane to drop significantly as time goes on.
