Sometimes the resin will end up with a smooth surface finish, but often it will sink leaving the surface with woven texture. If you want a smooth finish there a two ways to get it . one: Once lay up is complete and out of car you can apply an extra coat or two of resin , very easy to get not so good looking runs but if coats are not to thick but enough to wet out , easy. You do have to let each coat cure, depending on resin up to 24 hours.

Two: once item is cured and removed from car sand item down with 180 grit it is ok to cut into the mat, just not to far. Build up with 2k clear coat, car paint. Once it has hardened flat it down with 240 , build it up again , then repeat with 800. After 800 and clear item should be looking good.

Good luck.

I'd love too, but the rubber I have on my rims wouldn't like that too much...and I don't have the stockers anymore.

It's not that I have a "bad" tire...

Pzero Corsa's have a treadwear rating of 60...don't really want to take long trips with these tires. More or less only for AutoXing, the less being weekend cruises or something like the Tail of the Dragon.

[quote name='Nospig' date='Jun 29 2005, 03:59 PM']Good to see more people DIY with fds , im a self employed fabricator i did all the work on my car. Rebuilt the engine, fabricated stainless steel exhaust system including manifold, and wastegate 50mm used 62-1 turbonetics turbo, apexi intercooler, trust bov apexi pfc which i tuned. Use a cusco twinplate clutch, hotwire earthed ht leads, ngk R6725-105 plugs. I also did the plumbing all the brackets, the carbon heat sheilds etc etc no one works on my car but me.
