Hey I just looked at those pictures on your site BDC. Is it possible to have the john deere turbo housing on there. IIRC they are almost identical looking. The schweitzer housing does not look the same.

I think it is a John Deere turbine housing per the shape, coloring, as well as the part #'s that are scratched off of the AF61R that are visible on the John Deere unit. Admittedly, the 1.00 housing on the AF61R is a much better match than the 0.83 A/R housing we used, but still nonetheless it's a JD unit. The Schwitzer S300 housing for the Cummins 10L diesel turbo motor has big "dog legs" to help space the turbo out away from the engine, presumably for some sort of head or manifold clearancing. However, that the John Deere is built off of the Schwitzer S300 core, the turbine housings are interchangable.

So the new numbers are out for the AF61. IIRC it was like 373 at 15psi and 400 at 16 or something like that. There was also a 20psi run at 454 or something like that.

I was just curious if people expected these numbers. What are your thoughts? Honestly I expected a greater jump at 20psi, more like 480.

Both cars had some issues that needed to be worked out. I will be curious to see what they hit when all is said and done.

Dyno sheets and full post can be seen at rx7club.com in the DR Autosports section.

My car got 373@15psi, and that's, acording to Steve because of my hi-flow cat, dropping fuel pressure and maxing out my injectors. If i had a midpipe and 850/1300 combo injectors, i'd have over 420 or so at 16psi.

However, i'm happy with the results that i got and i'd rather have a hi-flow cat then a midpipe anyway.

Also the car that got 452@20psi had igntion break up and was not able to go past 5500rpm or so... So Steve let of at that rpm and that's all we got...

As Eric said on the other forum, every car that was tuned had problems and none of them actually were the true examples of what these cars could have done if everything was right.

The dyno sheets are posted on the D&R section and we all have videos, but they are huge and i honestly can't post them or host them. KaoticFDR1 on the other forum might to something... I don't know.

Amel, Thanks.

That is good to know. I was not aware that Steve said it should hit 420 at 16. I will be running 850's with 1600's and a a1000 so fuel should not be an issue. I also plan on running a small exhaust system. 3" downpipe to 1-6" mangaflow muffler.

I will be interested to see what I can hit.

When it comes down to it I want to see one of these things hit the 500 mark. At that point I would think that this is nearly the perfect turbo for my setup. Until I see that I guess I will have to just wish an hope that someone does it before me.

Reading through the all the trail cake though, it looks more like 420 hp at 16 psi with methanol injection...Methanol is an oxygenate and adds charge cooling. Its a typical 60mm range turbo, although I have to say comparing it to other turbos in that size range, the curve of the schwitzer is slower and lower than alot of turbos in that range, comparing it to td07, 60-1 etc etc. The 25 year old design and rotating mass does show up...
