Isn't the Kai a T-70 turbo Igy? So then the two turbo's have the same major's but different inducer sizes?

i think this kit is what they used on the hypersports FD in hawaii. Its the kit that comes with the watercooled wastegate and all that jazz. I dunno if that car has run or even been tuned yet, but i heard HKS claimed 700hp capable (less for rx7 i'm sure) anyone got a contact for hypersports?
BINGO! We have a winner. I've heard the same thing, Travis from Hypersports in Hawaii has it. They know Piston motors, BUT we'll see how they do with a rotary

did you ask Hypersports if the turbo is using a T4 flange or if it's still the T3 flange like the RX-6 kit? I think that's about the biggest question as to how good this turbo could be for our cars and high horsepower applications.

apexi turbos

It has a T4 undivided flange. The Compressor is a 50 trim/65mm inducer/92mm major. The exhaust is 89 trim/74.1mm major/70mm exducer. Looks nice. A lot overpriced for me!

Something that I think you guys are forgetting about is the fact that this is an abraided turbo. That alone is probably what's driving the price up on this unit. For those of you who don't know what makes an abraided turbo different/better than a regular turbo I took another quote from the "other forum" that sums it up nicely.

"oh and btw, you know that the trick thing about the AX series is that they are abraided turbos. This means that the compressor housing is made with a material that is worn away to a perfect fit when the compressor is first spun up. They can make the tolerances much closer, 0 actually and let the wheel polish itself in for the least needed clearance. This means no blow by and if the compressor ever wobbles or gets a little play, it just machines itself a new path maintaining the closest possible fit throughout the life of the turbo."

I hope this helps those of you who are like I was a few days ago. I didn't know what it meant either. The more that I read and research about it though, the more it seems that this is where all turbos will be heading before too long.
