Single Turbo VS Twin Turbo VS Supercharger
In your opinion: Which do you think is better for RX7? Which is better turbo or supercharger for RX7? What are the pluses and minuses of turo and supersharger? |
well for one, turbochargers are a lot more common for all generations. what model/engine/year?
rx7 3rd gen 93-98, I am thinking generaly
single
single is the way to go....... but there are some modified twins out there that will produce similar power gains
Well, bearing that in mind, what are the comparisons, cost and performance-wise, of converting from stock to BNR stage 2 or 3, converting to a T-[51-78], or converting to a TO4[E-R]
to go from completely stock to single turbo will cost you about 9 grand. i did all the work myself and it still cost this much. you need a crap load of parts and time.. also my figure doesnt include porting a motor. i run a stock ported motor with my single setup.
Right, I'm guessing the BNR conversion would be much cheaper and easier since you don't need to move anything or make any new mounting brackets or supports?
That also brings up another question, which probably deserves its own thread (or two): which mods are dependent on each other? For instance, is there any point in getting 1600 cc injectors if you don't have enlarged ports of some kind? Will there be any improvement from an upgraded fuel pump without both of those? And anything else along those lines, that's just an example of the type of question. |
you are going to need an entire fuel system upgrade...pump, regulators, injectors + rails,
then you have ecu and tuning (which inst cheep) and the list goes on... |
whats "BNR conversion"?
