[quote name='Cheers!' date='Jun 30 2005, 04:48 AM']I didn't want to say this, but I killed a rx8 from 60 mph to 100 mph pull on the highway the other day. The guy behind the rx8 was not impressed, he wouldn't look over at me after and he was the one who instigated the whole matter. He must thought my dated FC was slow or something...

The rx8 is hardly a drag car. It will eat your FC around a racetrack circuit or some mountain twistys however...

I am tired of ppl thinking the 8 is slow because it doenst make the same horsepower figures the turbo rx7s make.....there is so much more to this car than horsepower.

Well after doing the greddy kit it is a whole new car. With saying that it can hold its own with FD's that are not single! Also the boost is almost instant so it will smoke almost everything off the line.

i love that excuse "well maybe im not as fast, but bring it to the twisties"

to me that just yells "im slow"

plus youre gonna challenge a 15 year old suspension vs a brand new one? if my fc suspension wa sall brand new youd have yourself a deal. Control and ability is all based on the driver, as is knowing your limits. its only when you dont know your limits that you wreck.

**this is not a hostile reply....simply debate **

Its not an excuse, I just dont care about dragging off other cars anymore, if I did I could simply pull my FD outta the garage for the day (400hp single)...fact is though, round here the cops are ******** and if you get caught dragging you can kiss your car goodbye when they instantly impound it for 28days.

Your FC will eat my RX8 in a drag. I dont dispute that, but all the power on the planet wont make it go around a corner like an 8. In fact you could put all the upgrade suspension, tyres and brakes on your FC money can buy, I still believe my 8 will nail it thru corners, the chassis is far superior....you get that with 15+years of chassis development since the FC, and that makes the 8 a hell of a lot of fun to drive.

I invite you to simply take an 8 for a drive, then you'll see what I mean.

I bagged the 8 when it came out for a number of reasons (instantly made my FD more dated, it doesnt have a turbo, it doesnt look right...etc) ....till I drove one.

Exactly. I said when I owned this car for a week that anyone who didn't fall in love with it either didn't drive it enough or they just don't get it.

I understand what you are trying to say but there is physics involved. Every car has it's limits regardless of the driver. That being said I feel a far better sense of accomplishment taking a underpowered car up against a much faster car and killing it in the corners. I killed a C6 Vette getting the highway yesterday morning. He just didn't have the ***** to carry any speed into the corners. He then killed me as the road turned straight. Wow, that sure took skill for him to do that. Any moron can drive fast in a straight line.

Saying your rx8 will outhandle an fc because the 8 is brand new and the fc is between 14-19 years old is idiocy. And then going as far as saying that you can give the fc a full suspension, tires and brakes, and your 8 would still beat it?! Thats just stupid.

not true, hang out at a track when the kids wheel out their hondas, 90% of them can barely shift, nevermind stay in a straight line.

Anyways, I know chassis development has a lot to do with cornering ability etc, but honestly i dont think many people push their car to the limits of their cars design, thats why i am saying its more related to the driver, if you dont have the ability or the ***** to push your car to its physical limit then it doesnt matter how good the chassis is.

Also i think if anyones willing to do the fc fully suspension-ed out vs an rx8, im down for that, ive seen some sick suspension setups on the net id love to throw on my car.

also im not fighting, like havoc said, this is just a friendly debate.

I love rotaries...the RX8 is the only one you can get new....but the way it works out I couldn't get it if were $1000 more expensive and/or with only 2 seats/2 doors.
