I will never recommend anyone buy a new mazda vehicle, this headache is starting to sound like the problems people had with the FD's and getting them to honour the warranty.

Last time I talked to the rep at this independent company (yesterday), she told me that she has my paperwork and understands I may not have the title for some time. She told me that I am fine and once the title does arrive, fax it in to her and she will process the buyback. Since the letter pretty clearly specifies that these items must be in to Mazda no later than 1 Oct. I asked her if she could give me something in writing stating that I could still do the buyback even though I would not have my title to turn in until after the deadline. She said I did not need to worry she would get it taken care of but would not provide anything in writing. For some reason I am not convinced of this and would like to see something in writing but since she will not provide this I am still in the same situation. I have a sinking feeling that when Oct. 1 rolls around I am going to be stuck.

It would be nice if I could actually talk to someone in Mazda or at least get a letter stating that my buyback will still be processed when the title eventually arrives.

It is funny, I still do like the car alot, I am just burned by the fact that I let that dealer soak me for $3,800 over MSRP. I do not believe the car is worth that price with the problems that have come to light. At MSRP or if you were lucky enough to get yours below MSRP I think it is worth it and if that were my case, I would be keeping it.

I would get a HUGE *** billboard and attatch it to the car and park yourself in front of the local dealer and I bet you get some results.
God I Love the Way Rob Thinks!!!

(and I meant that in a very non-perverted way!)

I don't understand why you would think we (rx8 owners)come here cause we want more horsepower? The 8 stock is still putting out more hp than any other generation na rotary engine. We have that without modification. When the aftermarket catches up I'm sure there will be many modified rocket 8's out there but it's more than fast enough for me for what it is, a sporty family car. It accelerates fine to me and yes I know what a 250 hp car is supposed to feel like, I'm sure there are 1000 professional hp raters here that can tell the minute they get in a car how much it puts out. (sarcasm) I think they are teaching it in drivers ed now based on the number of teeny boppers making comments these days. 14 second quarter mile is more than fast enough to merge on the freeway on ramps, I don't know what the complaint earlier was about getting on the freeway. Are you shifting right or did you buy and auto? I keep up with most everything on the road without any trouble at all, I'll be posting some video's of me in my 8 and my buddy in his 01 Vette soon to show how slow it is on the freeway on ramp. I am not in denial. But I do drive it often enough to appreciate it for what it is. I think Mazda should do more to correct the stated deficit for those that need that HP to feel good about their purchase but for me 500 bucks to take my wife to dinner in the car she loves and free maintenance for 48 months is fine. I won't have it that long anyway. I also didn't get robbed while buying it so I don't feel bad about that either, I guess there are some that paid too much and I understand why they would feel the way the do. Hell, I've been there in the past. By the way, the last gen NA RX7 cost what compared to the same year Vette, which spanks it? Oh, yeah way more than it was worth, which is why it died. If you think the next RX7 will be "affordable" your high. It doesn't exist. High performance = more money, much more money. If you're looking for real speed and performance you better start fattening your wallet cause you ain't gonna find it in this price range or cheaper. It'll cost you 40k or more to just get entry level. If you can find one cheaper send me a link to it so I can see. Or you could buy a new car and mod the hell out of it for another 10k on top of purchase price so you get depreciation plus your 10k down the drain. But I guess what it comes down to is, cars are individual, it's more than just performance, it's looks, style and luxury, you can make anything go fast and look cool if you want to. Even the Pacer or Gremlin or oh, the Chevette would be the best selling car in the world with the right NUMBERS right?

sandiegorx8 - Firstly Welcome to No pistons.

I personally love the RX-8 I love the looks and have seen a few on the street here and love them even more.

I really wish the power was up to parr. Judge Ito a mod here on this board and Rotary enthusiast did 6 passes with his RX-8 and could not get below 15.3 in the 1/4. That is not very fast. My 260HP 3700lb '00 Mustang GT Vert runs 14.40 all day long.

My 2600 lb. RX-7 with 242 RWHP ran 13.08. There is more than 9 HP missing in the 8.

I LOVE the Feed RX-8 in the vid posted in this section. I reccomend dowmloading it and watching. It will make you proud of your car.

I will get one in the future just waiting for the aftermarket to catch up.

Good luck with yours and enjoy it.

You could put a Renensis in a Pacer. That car was originally made for a rotary.
