Hey guys I had a quick question. On the RX-8 options list on Mazda's site I noticed the Spare is an option. Are they doing something that would made the need for the spare not nessisary? DId any of you guys get this option? Just curious as I am plotting what to add to the list of things I feel are needed. Thanks in advance for any help you guys can offer

That stuff makes repairing the tire a big headache. You have to demount the tire clean the goop out then put the patch from the inside in. You can just use a plug. Tire places charge you more money if you used the GOOP crap. Take it back to mazda and let the tech gripe of the crap.

I think the spare is unncessary. If you REALLY want one, buy a slightly damaged but useable rim off another member and an aftermarket tire. Stock tires aren't terrific and they're very expensive anyway.
