Thumbs up

well the rx8 has been out for a while now and i was curious what power you guys were getting from them. my reasons for asking are i am considering buying an rx8 in the future so that i can make my FD more of a weekend car. and my friend told me that some guy he works with has a 400hp rx8. that number seems extremely high. anyways yea how are your cars doin and what not.

thanks

john

How much money do you have?

I know a couple of companies are putting out Supercharger kits. But they are only getting in the high 200's with the HP. Remember they are starting with about 225HP but they are getting some nice torque #'s with the S/c.

lol not how much money do i have but how much money does this guy have to make 400hp.

if i get an 8 it will be to please the wifey. no more fuel smells and lack of a/c for her in the next car. i also thought that the 8's were barely making it to 300hp for now. so when i heard 400 i instantly thought bs. anyways yeah i also though r-magic or someone in japan had a turbo kit for the rx8.

what are the restrictions? that 20b 8 that was in the rotorfest pics is prob making quite a bit. you put in a 3rd gen motor and mod that.

i think you are missing the point. he claims to have a 400hp rx8. i didnt think it was possible without doing an engine swap. i'll get more info on what his mods are but lets just assume that you must use the renesis motor and make 400hp on a daily driven rx8. how possible is that?

sure thats possible. i dont know how but im sure it is. a big enough turbo some nitrous large fmic. the only thing i see that could be a prob is that there isnt really an after market ecu, or not one that i have heard about, for the 8.

Theres someone here in SoFla who has a turbo and is hoping to get about 350. He said something like 270 with 6PSI, and was aiming to get 12PSI after tuning.

All I know is it sure felt damn fast to me.

Wait to see if we get the MazdaSpeed RX-8. Suppose to be nicer. Or just buy the MazdaSpeed Turbocharged Miata.

I would find it unrealistic to get over 300hp with an RX-8. And turbocharging an RX-8? I thought it had the same port setup as the 13b 6-port?
