Is this a frequent problem for RX-8s?

Whenever on cruise control, if I'm pulling up a steep hill, my cruise control keeps accelerating past the set point. I've had it set for 65 and it kept accelerating through 77 yesterday.

Others have this? Good news is that I'm still under warranty. Bad news is that I've only had the car 2 weeks and curious what other bugs I'll get.

Read the FAQ and none of them seem to be a problem yet.

Thanks

that is normal. as long as it does not do it on the highway i would not worry about it. it just accelerates up the hill so nobody rear ends you.

that seems a bit excessive, I would get it checked out

I would worry if he was using cruise control on the streets, of course he is on the highway

12mph is too much of a difference, maybe going downhill I can see the car picking up some speed past the cruise setting, not going up.

Thanks for the information. Sounds like the dealer may owe me one. Problem is its intermittent, meaning when it comes time to pay up, they won't be able to reproduce it.
