Should I or should I not. I am training now for Chrysler, but want an RX-8. I train at a Mazda dealer in Silver Spring,MD. Every day up there, I sit in the RX-8. That thing is ******* BAD ***!!!!!! I love it. It is the white water pearl Touring package. Leather red/black seats, navigation, ALL the goodies.

I have not found out if I get a discount. I work for DarCars, but it is the same across the entire board. I can go to Mazda,Toyota,Lexus,Chrysler.

Should I get it or not. I can EASILY afford an FD, but I want that extra warranty, protection plan, and just that new car smell, and I wanna see the odometer read 0 miles on it. I would prefer a demo version, since the engine is broke in already, but don't know how much it was beat up on. I will obviously get the white water pearl, or velocity red mica.

Discuss, yes or no. Oh, and the FD, if I make one sale a day, I could probably afford a stock base model FD within 3 months. Fully payed off. Sweet, eh?

Not to hate on rotaries or anything, but there are much nicer cars out there for the cash you will spend on a new 8.

Hmm....$26k...what front engine rear drive car can you get?

Base base 350Z...no LSD, small brakes, small wheels, just looks crappy.

Can't touch a G35, or S2000.

Lexus IS300, nice car....not sporty enough for me.....plus base comes in at just over $30K

None of the Euro cars in that price range.

I just like FR Japanese cars.....I LOVE rotaries....I got the perfect car for me.

Other people don't have such exacting tastes, I guess.....

You know what I meant. Stop being smartasses. I meant 50 miles, 20 miles, whatever. Still contemplating it.

The payments would not be a problem really, the insurance is what'll kill me. I am pretty much a new driver, under 21. Insurance I would get a raping.

Either that, or get a Jeep Liberty Sport at Chrysler as a promo car for 142 bucks a month. Once it hits 4,999 miles, I get a new one(or whatever we have the most of on the lot).

I want to own my own car though. Torn between three options.

93 R1- I understand what you are saying, but there is nothing out there that I like. Nothing. Well, at least for the price range of 36k and below.

I personnely don't care for the rx-8.

I do see why people would like them. They got rid of the supra , and its like the alternative to the 350Z and WRX STI ,and you can put more then two people in them with the suicide doors...... good for the 30 something crowd

Like most people I was excited when they first talked about the HP rating on the rx-8 engines. 255hp off a n/a..... but when it came to market the HP # was just hiep. You think about it makes 190-210ish HP @10.0 to 1 not to much more from the other big compression rotors of the 2nd gen 9.7 to 1. But it makes sense why they would say the HP was 255. As a car fan if a car company came out with a new(when they had years to R&D) that did not meet or beat the old model it was replacing I would be pissed off. CA is one one the world biggest markets for cars and car companies need to meet thier output standerd or else they will lose out on revenue. so you have to give up HP so you can sell them.

It would be kick *** if MAZDASPEED came out with lowered compression rotors to meet forced induction needs. Then i don't think i would not complain as much about them. but after market on rotor creation is non existence for a reason. just not enough rx-7, rx-8 for it to be worth someones time to make their on rotor from scrach.

[SIZE=7]BUT for $27,000 a DIYer could 3-rotor a FD easy.

for 142 bucks a month, you really can't beat that... even though you don't technically own it, its a great deal.

I know. It is a great deal. But I have to be 21. Scratch that idea.

I am just thinking of finding a bone stock FD. Base model preferred, on the North East coast.

Thanks for the opinions you guys. It's appreciated.
