Damn.

So the new diff is still whining. It is just whining when you are cruising along, or is it when you shift or downshift? That is ******* really strange.

Nice! So, how long untill the new diff goes in, or was that on the new one, as RowTarEh? said?

I am still running the fucked up diff....I get the new one next week. The diff whines like a really bad FC tranny...hahah only on decel or no-load conditions.....gets really loud around 40mph....

It would be funny if you could actually break it before you get a new one. You know, to see if it's possible. How strong are they anyway?

Well, Judge Ito and I are the only ones to break their diffs....Ito did some drag racing, me I just did a couple burnouts. Mine was a defect from the factory, Ito's was probably defective, and he just finished it off. So, maybe they are strong, maybe not....we'll find out as time goes along. I haven't seen any other cases of messed up rear ends....the trannies are definetly the weak point in these cars...their have been many cases of theose being replaced.

Ah, the constant throughout Mazda's rotary history are the trannies being the weak link. I threw a '79-'80 1st gen 5 speed into my REPU and it would get worse every time I'd open the secondaries. It eventually wouldn't go into 1st anymore. Now I've got a CD Cosmo (RX-5) ribcase in it that whines, and it's plenty strong.

That is cool you can get a double streak on a busted diff. I need a LSD for my FC. So I can start throwing down double lines.

I've owned FC GXL's and driven my friend's FC's with their oe LSD's...the lsd on those aren't really noticable....is it because of the rear suspension design? I've had 1st gens with oe lsd's and man...those things loved being sideways....and always left 2 bad *** stripes....
