air box.
After you take the engine cover off, lift the airbox out of its bottom mounts by lifting up were the accordion tube joins the airbox - about 2 inches.
Then push the whole box straight back to clear the clip were the air enters. The metal clips can now be undone and the filter can be pulled vertically out. No need to disconnect anything unless you are taking the whole box out.
The bottom mounts have rubber grommets in them, if you push them down into the radiator fans they can jam and burn out the motor - be careful. (Been there, T-shirt aquired.

Great tip dude. Now I better go check on those bottom mounts to make sure. This should be a sticky!
You were correct, the bottom left grommet felt out. I used a little grease on all four and they easily went in.
I recomment everyone to use a small amount of grease on the grommet so the stud doesn't push the grommet out and make the stud just slide in.
