i am going to attempt to build a cold air box. I'd like to start the box bewteen the MAF and the filter. I have come across soem directions for some about a week ago, i think it was either here on no pistons or a link from here, but now i cant find it. Does anyone know where i can find some tips and picture on what it should look like? Also, for people who have taken out their "flash to pass" lense(s) can u notice any difference? I am debating that aswell. Thanks for the help

 

i have heard that there is really no differance by taking the FTP lenes out because the headlight is still there and it doesn't let enough air through there but it has to let some in thats why i'm keeping only the passenger side one out. i've also heard of one person makinga special mesh grill insert that goes in the FTP lens spot. which is very creative. and i have also heard of the vents in the light covers which get expensive but otherwise the cold air box i can't help you with

 

this writup is good, but it's a waste of time and money. aluminum costs a lot in sheets, and i doubt you will make your's look that good. it will be a frustration and not work that well.



instead, move the intake filter too a spot with cooler air, like in front of the radiator or in the fender well, ie cold air intake. this works much better, is easier, and ensures you get cold air taken in.



do a search on this forum, or talk to FCManiac or myself on how to do it.
