Seppuku, I am sure you know that RX7s are not the cheapest cars to maintain. I recently had the alternator replaced at the dealership to the tune of > $500. I've driven the car about 30,000 miles and have spent about $7000 in maintenance expenses. In comparison, I had a Honda Accord that I drove for 150K miles and spent maybe $2000 in lifetime maintenance. Certainly there is no comparison between the two types of cars as far as driving satisfaction.



My point in the post is that if you don't have the coin to purchase a 3rd generation RX7, then maybe a 3rd generation is not for you.



As far as the statement regarding taking payments from someone who resides out of state, I did not infer that you personally are a shady character or are a shyster. I don’t know enough about you to make any sort of judgment call. I was merely pointing out the risks that I would take if I took a loan from someone out of state…especially someone I have never met. I am not willing to take on those risks. I wouldn’t even sell the car to my sister (who resides in another state) for payments…and she’s family.



I wish you the best of luck in finding a 3rd gen RX7. Once in a blue moon I have seen FDs for about $10K. If you’re patient and persistent, you’ll come across one.
