Default 1993 Mazda Rx-7 Base VR $6k

My daughter just passed her drivers test and therefore I can no longer justify owning a project car. Here's some info regarding my 93 base VR. It's a 5-speed a little over 113k miles. Given that rollers are selling for around this amount, I'll looking for 6k for the car.

Let's start with the bad: I've owned this car for 13 years (2nd owner) and the paint wasn't in great shape when I bought the car then. Since then the body has also suffered some. My house only has a single car carport which we share across 3 cars, and even though the car was covered, it sat under an oak tree that had tons of acorns a couple of years ago, which put a bunch of little dings on the hood. The rear bumper has some significant chips and scratches from an accident I had almost a decade ago, but no cracks through the plastic. Air conditioner does not work, and has not for years. May just need a charge of R12. One of rear wheel studs broke, but I found a lug nut that will hold on the exposed part of the stud, although I don't torque that nut as much as the other 4. The car has had limited use for about the 4 years or so including a stretch of about a little over a year when it wasn't driven at all, although I did start the engine during that time. Probably due to this and sitting covered in the elements, the HVAC has a smell of mold/mildew. There is a coolant leak. I'm pretty sure it's at the radiator drain plug or possibly in the heater core. I put in a new aluminum radiator about 6-7 years ago which came with an aluminum drain plug. I wound up stripping the threads on both a year later and never had the radiator re-thread to a larger plug properly (although I band aid it the best I can with high-temp sealant). Also I've noticed the smell of coolant inside the car on occassion, hence my suspicion that there may be a leak in the heater core. The leak is minimal, I check the coolant level regularly and have never had to add more than a cup to top the system off at the filler neck, even after driving the car a couple of hundred miles. There are some other gremlins here and there, like the passenger side switch doesn't seem to raise the window but the drivers side does, associated with the age of the car. Oh, before I forget, the car needs rear tires to pass inspection.

Now on to the good: The car runs really well for a 20 year old FD. Although idle isn't always consistent, when its around 900 rpm, the car is pulling 14-15Hg of vacuum. Turbos work great, I have a manual ball and spring boost controller which I currently have set to max out at 8-9psi WOT. Most of the reliability mods have already been done, including vacuum hoses, most (if not all) of the exposed coolant hoses, check valves have either been replaced or eliminated, fan on a switch mod, downpipe, and the following gauges: boost/vacuum, coolant temp, A/F meter, fuel pressure (needs to be rewired). I've kept up with the maintenance, even had the injectors serviced (about the same time I put in the new radiator).

I've got some parts, including spark plugs, an airbox, and possibly even some rear brake rotors. I also have the factory service manual.

Pics of the car can be found here.

Please note that I'm selling this as a project car. If you require a daily driver or do not have the funds for a project car, please do not contact me. That being said it is a great opportunity to buy a running 3rd gen on the cheap.

PM me if you would like additional info.

Thanks!
