WTB: 12a apex seals for beater build
#1
A good used set with no warping, chipping, etc. is required. My seals are in great shape besides being barely over 7mm in height which is the minimum according to the fsm. I assume it's not a good idea to use them so I'm looking for a set with a bit more life. As stated this is a "beater build" motor utilizing leftover parts I've had around my garage for some time. The engine will replace the excessively smoky one currently in my newly acquired banged up SE
My friends and I are having a Top Gear style challenge and of course I lucked upon a neglected SE with a leaky oil cooler which I've since repaired. The odometer doesn't work but reads 213k on what I assume is the original engine. I have decided on using it's intermediate plate, and EGI system for a fuel injected 12a build. I would be interested in any other applicable used/spare parts such as fd corner seal springs etc. The used items must be reasonably priced and of course I'll pay shipping on anything that were to be donated.
The competition is an 87 E30 bmw and 91 honda prelude si. The honda is getting a ghetto rebuild as well due to a cracked piston ring land. The bimmer has a ton of miles but still pulls quite strong. It certainly has the power advantage by a bit. Suspension will be stock on all three cars.
I think I can "clean up" the intake and exhaust ports a bit without them noticing.... wink wink!
