If I bought it I would use a Racing Beat StreetPort Dual Exhaust which is the biggest aftermarket setup available. It is dual 2.5 piping and presilencers til right before the rear axle where it collects into a single pipe and into the muffler, I could always run a custom muffler setup with the headers and presilencers.

What headers and exhaust were you running and did you ever get it to the track (1/4)?

I would probably run a carb due to simplicity and expense.

I assume this would bolt up to my tranny/flywheel with my counterweight an all.

If I remember correctly the blocks from all 13b 84-91 are the same so I could just bolt up my stuff and run it but Im not sure on this?

I would need to take out a small loan for this so I want to make sure of everything before I go ask my boss or family. I was planning on working over winter break (college student) and then getting my block rebuilt and SP by Kevin Landers of Ressurection Rotary in TN which would run me $1600 but I would really like this motor.

Is the price negotioable at all?

Thanks,

Greg

I never ran it at the track. But the motor was very strong. A carb, and that exhaust should make good power. The RB headers will need to be slightly modified for the exhaust port. I attached a pic of what I had to do to mine.

The flywheel and tranny and everything will bolt up just fine. Youll just need to use your front cover, oil pickup tube, and oil pan.

The price stands at $1600. Its already pretty low considering the money I have into it, and then you have the time that went into porting and assembling it.

I forgot to attach the pic. Sorry about that.

For hp, I would guess somewhere around 210-230 rwhp with a carb. But thats just an educated guess.

Im curious why youre so interested about my whole setup? Its completely different than yours, and on top of that, it was not a good setup for this engine. Like I said, I was running the stock ecu, and the afm is not only a big restriction, but it also didnt have the necessary range. I pegged the afm by 4500-5k. And that was with my true dual exhaust with not so good(but quiet) mufflers chocking the engine onthe exhaust side. I was also using the stock intake manifold, albeit ported, and a ported and polished TB, and a cold air intake.

I can make recommendations on a good setup that would be much better suited than my previous setup. A carb is a good place to start. I dont know the RB system that well, but it was made for a street ported engine(and probably a pretty big SP, soncidering the dual 2.5" pipes...), so it should work pretty good for this.

I am just interested on what setup you were using and also why you are selling it.

I am thinking of using the 465cfm Holley carb and racing beat intake unless you suggest something more suited for it like a weber of something.

I will give you a real YES/NO by Sunday when I will have worked all my finaces out.

Thanks

Greg

If the Holley carb has vacuum secondaries, the drivability will be much better with that than the weber. Im not that knowledgable on carbs in general, but Im thinking the 465 cfm one might not be enough. I would send an email to RB to get their recommendation for this engine if you do get the engine.

Im selling the motor because I will be selling my car in a few months. I would not be able to get what this engien is worth if it was in the car, especially if I didnt spend the money to make everything right. I would just lose money on everything if I did that. Its a lot easier to sell a car with a street port. And that SP will run better with my non-optimal setup.
