I was going to say you can probably use a rear from a toyota truck. I have seen them hold up to some powerful engines. All the offroad mags I get say they are very strong pretty close to the ford 9 inch

anything new with this post????

I am also installing a carbed 12Ain a 87 sr5..

I used a 79 tranny so the shifter would fit in the oem place and the engine could sit further back in the engine bay. But now the oild pan hits and i can not get the banjo bolt in for the rear housing oil line fitiing.

The sr5 that i am using has power steering and is in the way of the oil line.

I think that i will have to lower the front crossmember say 1 inch so the engine goes ferthur back in the tranny tunnle.

I hope you guys understand my lingo. I will have picks up soon.

Yeah, thats what my friend did. He lowered the front crossmember so that the oil pan won't touch. He also had a custom Ford 8.8 rear end put in with ladder bars. I'll try to get pics because the car has been parked for quite sometime.

BTW it's a stock TurboII motor in a SR5 body.

I'm pulling my motor next friday in my ae86, and starting to swap the 3 Gen 13BTT. I am going to try to run the stock rear end, but I fear it won't last very long. I want to keep the stocker rear end, because it is much lighter than a Celica Supra rear end. MA40 Celica Supra rear ends are bolt ins, with custom panhard rod. This rear will take 350 wheel. I'll make sure to post some pictures as the project continues...

well the engines in. right now im working on the wiring for the fuel injection and all that b/s. the engine sits pretty forward so the shifter will fit in the stock hole, the corolla has a 2 piece drive shaft that will bolt up, but i opted to get the 1 piece aluminum. i dont have a digital camera but i have a camera phone, so ill try to post pics after the holidays
