I am finally completing the the installation of a 13b in my Karmann Ghia. It is a 91 streetported 13B with a camden supercharger. Here is a picture.

That, is a nice fit. Looks good!

Questions,

Is there forced induction for the oil cooler or just ram air? And where in the world is the radiator located?

The oil cooler is a Setrap Oil cooler with double puller fans. The radiator is in the front. I am in the process of replacing the radiator with an aluminum radiator with 16" puller fan from Howe Racing. It arrived today.

Where there's a will there's always a way.

You have definitely helped to prove that.

You could really play with peoples minds with that setup. I know I'd be doing a double take the first time you popped the hood! Will you need to add ballasting up front?

Keep up the good work!

that right there is very nice. its something i was contemplating for a while. i had actually started to measure for a 20b or "short" 3 rotor, but then i got an FD...my beetle is getting a mild DP and maybe if i dont sell it, i might go with turbo on my ghia. it still fun to drive with its original engine though. although 6volt system sucks...

id love some details on the radiator position and plumbing though.

See the piping and radiator pictures below. The radiator is in the spare tire well. I will take picture of the radiator mounting when I replace the current radiator for the aluminum one. I enjoyed the VW engines. If I get another one later on I will probably go with a 2000 plus engine with a turbo.

Updated picture of engine bay. Installed an MSD and coils for each leading plug. Trailing is stock. I was considering a zero split between the leading and trailing but for what i researched it is better to maintain the plit fire between leading and trailing.

Any recent pics of the build? I'm getting ready to start mine.
