First time I've seen that. Doubt the new rx-7 will look like that. Besides, the article mentions an convertable rx-8.

I hope it's not that, I love my hardtop 2 door sports cars, from the looks of that, it definitely looks like it will be a convertable option of the RX-8

I spoke to the Mazda guy at auto-expo over here in Perth, AU a few weeks back.. he informed me that the 'new' rx7 will be released late next year and will have no relation to the rx8.

the RX-8 has been slated to be released in convertible form for quite some time, as well as aimed at being about 300lbs lighter than the current RX-8. Also, might I add that the wording in the article

Speaking of the RX-8, rumors have the 4-door sports car spawning a 2-door convertible called the RX-7

That sounds a whole lot like, "Let's mention the RX-7 and START a rumor." to me, and it also sounds like whoever wrote that has never heard of the 7 before, or at least, assumes that most people haven't and wants to sound intelligent.

I agree, Why would a Mazda Exec even know anything about the whole thing? I'm not doubting someone said that I just don't think he would actually have permission to talk about since everything is just a rumor
