just wait, rx-7's are a dime a dozen, they are not that rare. i am in the same boat, just a broke ***. my advice, just get to know alot of people that own rotaries. i just hear them bitch about everything wrong with the car, and I don't have to deal with the money that they put into it.

I had one of those rotary powered snowmobiles, made by Evenrude (OMC). It was the first rotary powered anything I owned.

The lubrication of the eccentric shaft and gears was by pre-mix. It had a problem with heat buildup. If the outside temperature was between 0 F and 30 F, the engine ran fine. Below 0 F, it would not start, probably due to thickening of the pre-mix oil. Over 30 F it would run for a while and then stop, due to over-heating.

Examining the design, I believe that the cooling fan and fining would have to be increased to operate at higher temperatures. It was an interesting design, just needed further refinement.

theirs your answer right their, i allmost bought one a year ago, but the bidding kept climing

that way you dont have to build a bike, and for the gocart the gearbox setups allready complete. just bolt it up to a cart and go

not having knolledge makes things terribly expensive

hence why im trying to learn stuff on these bloody forums

Peace

Cool

Have you looked up the Herculies Motorcycle? It's not as "out dated" as the some of nortons. I think it had a 330cc or 450cc single rotory aircooled in it. Might be worth looking up. You might want to look into the Suzuki RE5M Motorcycle Most of these are 1970's models or earlier, but I did find a Norton Rotory powered crotch rocket the Interpol 2. Look it up. Here are some pics that I found to help.

The Herc.

The Suzuki.

And the 2000 Norton Interpol 2.

Good luck looking. I have ridden one of the old Hercs. and for a "old" bike that ting can realy move. There is a guy localy that put his mod. Herc up against a Suzi Hyabusa and won in a 1/4 mi. and then beat him on the road on the way home for top end. Kind of scary for a bike that you sit up so high on. Good luck. -Magoo.

Well here is my attempt at a rotary motorbike. Its still a work in progress but coming along, the bike is a honda mb100 with a sachs km3 lawnmower engine 110cc, the engine has been modified alot and is now periphial ported and has had all the internal cooling system redesigned and runs a seperate total loss oil system for the engine bearings, the gearbox is a modified mb100 gearbox with mb5 internals and a custom input shaft to replace the crank, I am in the process at the moment of fiting a turbo charger to it, It currently runs a modified mb100 carburator which maybe changed at a later date, a total loss ignition system, It will be a blow through setup and will have a mazda 323 turbo intercooler, honda fuel pump, turbosmart fuel regulator, 6th gen rx7 blowoff valve, custom electric oil pump and regulator, the turbo is a tiny ihi rollerbearing turbo, it starts to spin when you kick the bike over! so it shouldnt have any trouble coming on boost, have a look at the videos the bike is not tuned however so it is running like a bag of crap I will tune it once the turbo setup is all complete. also go to my youtube for more videos of this and other rotary projects
