Porting for a 400hp 13B versus a 700-900ps 13B is two different things.

I ran a plot of my measely 253hp dyno run versus the KSP BP 700ps+ numbers, and you know what - I make more power under 4kRPM than that monster.

Ted where did you get the dyno charts from KSP's car? I would love to see that.

I totally agree with what you are saying and The whole thing is to build an engine for what turbine and purpose you are going to use it. You can't just port an engine and then bolt any turbine on there and expect it to perform in a certain way.

KSP built a drag machine......and that seems to be what most people on the forums want. I did not run that big of an exhaust port on my car but it is certainly bigger than what some people use to turn a T51! I see lots of FD 's with T78's and T88's and they make 400-430hp.........LOL That seems really low to me. Also every one wants super fast spool up time, so what I am suggesting is to just open the exhaust a little more than normal and there is a lot to be gained.

Sleeper7 is really looking at exhaust ports and we have been talking to all the shops here and kind of doing a comparison to Japanese and other tuners/builders and It seems like America has the smallest of the exhaust ports but the intake ports in america are HUGE and tapered off to protect the seals and numerous things to make the intake big as hell but the exhaust can't expel as much as the intake brings in. I think there is some kind of balance out there between the schools of thought.

Look at those datalogs on this thread.........this engine boost 4-5psi revving the car in neutral...... His car drives very smooth and make power early. I don't know what is the best yet but just looking around I like a little larger exhaust side.

This is my proof that overlap is not always the best deal.

Come on, porting for a street application is going to be totally different than a high-strung 700hp+ monster.

If I ever get to mess around with a 300hp + per rotor engine, I'd yank the sleeves and port the **** out of the exhaust port myself. The name of the game is to get all the combustion exhaust gases out of the engine as much as possible and screw overlap - the turbo(s) will give it enough pressure to overcome any small power losses from overlap.

The picture of my ports are only designed to go up to about 500hp.

After 500hp, the porting dsign should change appropriately.

Remember, my street port mouse makes more power than the KSP monster up until 4kRPM...so, if we were to drag race with 4kRPM limiters, I would win.

They're spooling twin turbos as well. Your boost level below 4000 RPM is likely higher as well.

It was on old Option. I'll try and see if I can get it again.

They had the dyno run posted, but it was a bit hard to read.

They did post a chart of RPM versus PS, and that's what I used to compare my numbers in Excel. I had that Excel graph lying around, but I think it got hosed when I redid the website. There might be a chance I can get my hands on an archive of my old website, but don't hold your breath on that one either.

BTW, this was when they "only" made 700ps. I know the car has gone deep into the 900ps range.

52mm wide. Stock is 48.3. This is not counting the bevel. These ports are for my next motor with a secondary bridge. Currently running a motor with the same width but with not as much porting up and down.
