1) The manuals say not to raise the eshaft by more than an inch or so to lower the intermediate plate. What would happen if you did? While I was assemblimg my motor, I did not see any ill effects of raising it more than an inch.



2) Do the front thrust bearings need to be greased at all?

ive never had anything go wrong by lifting the shaft taking it apart.

if you go more than a inch you'd just pull the e-shaft out of the front stationary gear bearing and have to realign it to get it back in... that's it... I actually put the e-shaft threw the intermediate housing and put the whole assemby in at once myself... no worries about what you did...
