hey im new to the forum and new to rotaries, but im learning. I just bought a 13b at a junkyard and I'm starting the rebuild. Today i got it all apart. Everything seems to be in good shape except im not sure about the condition of the rotars and their seals. The seals werent stuck in like on the rotars of my friend. they kinda just fell out without using tools and its actually hard keeping them in. Also, the front rotar is extremely covered in a gooey residue, the other is not. I watched the atkinsrotary overhaul video but i dont recall them mentioning this residue. Id appreciate any advice.. thanks, jason

that residue is probably oil, if one of the rotor oil seals went bad it would do that. the seals are supposed to come out easily, if they dont its either too rich or its been burning lots of oil for a long time.

rebuilding the motors are easy just take your time, make sure you do it right.
