S5 N/a Rotor Inspection
#1
I brought a pair of rotors thinkin they were in good shape. When I got 'em I didn't know what to look for as far as the face being smooth. I got the RX7 vids and took a second look at the rotors and realized they had pin stripes (yeah like suits) and figued I got jipped right, so I buy a bad/questionable enigne for a c-note, had a b*tch of a time gettin the flywheel nut off <-- ALL the horror stories were true! I tore the block down and found out that one rotor was garbage, the other looked aight, but it has them stirpes. Is this a type of normal wear, or are these rotors junk. I tired to post an image if it doesn't come up I'll give it another go later

Those are the maching marks. Perfectly normal. S5 and up have the indentation of the roto rmachined, while s4 and earlier have th eindention cast, and only the flat part of the rotor faces machined.
