I looked for an S5 plate at my local place but all they had were S4 and older.

New questions. Can I use an FD front plate with a 1st gen front cover and rotor housing? Will a 12A stationary gear fit correctly and all that?

Figured I'd kill two birds with one stone and just get an FD oil pump and front plate when I go to Atkins next month.

yep fd should work just fine. also the rx8 plate should work too, its even got the coolant seal in the right place

It's good to know FD stuff will work.

The only thing I'd worry about with RX-8 plates are the exhaust ports, and how to block them. Would devcon stand up to it?

I think I'll use an S5 T2 rear plate because it's got the oil banjo bolt in the lower corner, 18 tension bolts, beefier casting than S4 and 1st gen, and the rib between oil filter pedestal and dowel pin.

I just need to double check the number of tension bolt holes on a 3rd gen front plate to make sure they are compatible.
