Well that deoends on how you difine race plugs. They are hotter and race plugs are colder but they are basicaly the same plug, well except the RX8 plugs should be Iridiums. It looks like you have coppers and 6 heat range and the Iridiums listed for the RX8 are 7's (RE7A-L).
they look like the race plugs, not the stock fc/fd plugs

edit: NGK's web site shows 7's for L & T but Racing Beat show 7's & 9's and list them for $38. I emailed sparkplug.com for a price quote.

There should be 2 sets of heat ranges, There was a tsb about fouling plugs and flooding, mazda switched the cars that had these problems over to hotter plugs, and i think all the cars comming in now have the hot plugs from the factory.

I ran the br8iex iridium plug that RB recomends for race apps and it stubled everywhere as oposed to the stock 2g in the leading and stock 12a plugs in the trailing. Mind you I run a s-3 13b with a MSD_DIS igntion... For yous who don't know I run the typical MSD directfire, but instead of using two coils in a series or parallel I use a MSD DIS coil. It made such an improvement on start up and gas mileage it's sickning!
