It's most likely an override for repair shops.



Think about it a bit. In repair shops, number one rule is driver's window is down when the car is in the shop. Just in case the car has a funky alarm that will lock the doors after you shut them, even if the keys are in the ignition. Lot of German cars have that from the factory.



Now at the dragstrip, number one rule is when you are on the track, your windows have to be rolled up. Even with the traction control off, it won't let you have more than 20mph. Prevents "abusive" driving.



People pay a lot of money to have cars do their thinking for them. Problem is, what the car thinks you want isn't always what you want.

was that 197 stock-stock, or just before porting? any exhaust or tuning done?

it is nearly IMPOSSIBLE to drive a stick shift 6 smoothly, damn ecu tries to second guess you, not not consistently!

i've heard it both ways, but does the 8 have a different map for every gear, or is it 1-3, then 4-6?



and has anyone else (that's willing to share) ported one yet?
