Rx-8 Rotors On A N/a Fc
#41
well now that i sort of understand this concept (haha thanks peng) the zero overlap setup on the 8 is perfect for it because it is n/a right? like you said the reversion thing can get complicated but finding the right amount of overlap for a turbo app, is good. the problem is finding the balance between too much and too little, but then you face the same problem with the intake too

Well maybe my N/A 3 rotor idea isn't so stupid after all, not that they have really nice rotors for them. Now all I need to 2 more jobs to pay for it.
Maybe I could do it out of 13B parts and sell the stuff that I won't be using, and pay for it that way.
And I wonder why mazda wouldn't scrap the old n/a rotors and just supplement the new renisis ones like they did with the new apex seals?

This subject deserves a thread of it's own altogether, and it will probably attract more of the turbo guys that way too.

What ya'll might be forgetting is there is a huge difference between efficient and powerful..
If overlap was such a bad thing for boosted applications then people wouldn't do BP turbos to make more power
Thats all i'm gonna say about this in this thread, RONIN FC has a good idea about starting a new thread on this, since I wanna know a bit more about this subject aswell.

So, I guess the jury's still out on whether or not the renesis apex seals are good for the peripheral exhaust of the 13b? These rotors sound like an awesome option.
As I slowly plan my future rebuild, I'm trying to work out all the details in advance.
