Oh no, they are gettign weird with the parts stuff again. Different parts for auto and manual tranny cars for the engine.
Yah i think thats because the auto isnt a 6 port like the 6 spd renesis, I think it runs about 200 horse (before mazda screwed up the power ratings)

mazdatrix lists the rotors for like $220, or about half the cost of the s5 stuff

Damn, I *just* put this motor together a few weeks ago....I would really like some renesis rotors too... Looks like i may be opening this motor up before long...

Well one racer here thinks any extra comp is worth chasing!

We just built a PP 13B for a Gen 1 racer using Renesis rotors. Renesis apex seals are not as deep and are much lighter as they don't have to cross any openings. We machined the apex groove to take std carbon race seals, used S5 corners & springs and left the oil ring 'shields' out as there is no heat to worry about in that area on a PP.
Wow, i didnt think about the thinner apexes running past the exhaust port! Time to mill some rx8 rotors everyone.

He milled the rotors because carbon seals arent available in renesis sizes. I wonder if the exhaust port would really cause a problem.

wow you guys are willing to just experiment with the rotors just like that huh! pretty cool.

Mazdatrix has the rotors for $305. So i guess it wont be that much of a hit on the wallet.

I have another NA engine sitting in the garage waiting for a rebuild, maybe i'll just build that one with the rx-8 rotors... but no extra haltech and twm intake, damnit I see another spending spree in the near future

the motor in the FC right now has brand new S5 NA rotors, I might as well use them. *shrug*

I have used S5 rotors in there right now. I may have a new winter project for my fc now... If I find that my power goes past 9500 when I dyno, I may do the renesis rotors to gain some extra rpm without worrying about the motor.

Hmmm....heres an idea... Maybe I should PP the REW block in my garage, and use the renesis rotors in that...
