Rx-8 Rotors On A N/a Fc
#2
Nice cr? Its barely higher than the S5 n/a ones. The renesis rotors are 10.0 and the S5 n/a is 9.7. They are a good bit lighter, though, which would be worth it by itself if you have a high revving motor.

The CR increase from S5 NA to the RENESIS rotors is the same increase as S4 NA to S5 NA.
The new rotors have the extra blow-by / scraper seal too.

I know that mazdatrix was building a motor to test it out, but I haven't heard about it in a while.
And these rotora are pretty cheap compared to S5 rotors.

Last i heard from mazdatrix they were working in a motor. You wouldnt use the scraper ring unless you had side port exaust, it would just add more friction. The new seals are also like 1/2 he weight, so they dont float until extreame rpms. Someone also posted somewhere that the side seals are harder then normal and rear up pre rx8 housings, that not for sure tho, just a rumor. That mazda trix has a working 13b with them in it is not a rumor tho. I'm waiting for them to disassemble it and check for abnormal wear etc. the new rotors are ~300 each i believe

We just built a PP 13B for a Gen 1 racer using Renesis rotors. Renesis apex seals are not as deep and are much lighter as they don't have to cross any openings. We machined the apex groove to take std carbon race seals, used S5 corners & springs and left the oil ring 'shields' out as there is no heat to worry about in that area on a PP.
