Rotors And Housings
#1
Hey Guys , I finally got my pulley bolt off and broke the entire engine down last night. Im in the process of cleaning all the parts up and stuff and to my surpirse all internals seem to be in great condition, I just have to check the tolerances. I was wondering since I wont be using these parts for like another 3-4 weeks , How should I store them to prevent corosion and other stuff so they dont get damaged.
Is there any specific way or something, any advice appreciated, Thanks.

Aluminim obviously will not rust. For the steel parts you could rub them down with a bit of oil or spray them with some WD-40 or the like. Afterwards, you could stick them in a fairly heavy duty plastic bag or something to keep dust off of them.

I successfully stored my engine parts for about a year by spraying them with WD-40 and covering them with plastic bags. Using motor oil would have been a better idea, because I got a couple places where corrosion formed on the Eshaft (very small places). I sanded off the corrosion with 600 grit sandpaper and the engine is doing fine.
