Btw what do you mean about breaking in the bearing? These are journal bearings, they are never meant to make contact with anything. A film of oil pressurized oil suspends the eshaft lobe and prevents it from touching the inside of the bearing. There is nothing to be broken in!

And by this logic there is nothing to wear or wear out, yet we have all seen worn out bearings.

The break in for new bearings is for the deformation that happens when pressing them in that leaves high spots- if you do not clearance the bearing after pressing it in you should wear the highspots down with break in.

Clearances vary with application; if you are race clearancing for high rpm you may as well start with an old worn bearings since you will be making them even sloppier to account for e-shaft flex.

The exceptions are if there is contamination in the bearing or marks that will heat the oil furhter in use- this is why Mazdacomp/Mazdaspeed would recommend re-using old bearings when possible.

The engine i purchased from a japanese importer.

I believe the wear from that engine is from the accessory belts being too tight causing the E-shaft to be constantly pulled down.
