Here is another engine that was rebuilt with used rotor housing, after 4k miles with RA seals. I don't know what they looked like before, as I did not rebuild this engine previously. These seals evidently have 8 months +/- from the purchase of RA, as of today. So it doesn't appear to me that is has anything to do with build dates of the seals.



I would like to add I also don't know how this engine was run, I'm pretty sure it was run lean..

The galling looks exactly like my housings. Mine also had scorch marks but they were not that bad.
