i decided to go the atkins route. good prices and reliable name. but i have a question. how can you tell if your rotors are non reusable? mine are very dirty, they have been soaking for a couple days and power washed to no avail.
What are you soaking them in? To get the carbon off you will need to soak them in carb cleaner or some sort of industrial degreaser. I had simular questions a few weeks ago. Check out that thread. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/index.php?...showtopic=19445 I HIGHTLY recommend "Purple Power" I got mine at Advance Auto Parts for around $3.00 a gallon (compared to Castrol Super Clean at $9.00 a gallon). Buy you a big bucket (large enough to put housings in) and soak everytying overnight. Then hit it with a pressure washer and it should look like new. |
I soaked mine overnite in Cold-Dip Carb Cleaner. Rised off in the parts washer and they are spotless

Is the one gallon can of that ChemDip stuff big enough to dip a rotor in? How much is the 1 and 5 gallon buckets of it? I could not find a place locally that sold it when I was looking for it. |
I gal can is not big enough. I didn't feel like ordering the 5 GL can. I bought 3 - 1GL cans and poured them in a 5 gal bucket.

Autozone and Advanced Auto both stock it
|
Well i have had them soaking in carb cleaner for multiple days, i will check them again tomorrow, so the cleaner the better right? but they don't have to be BLINGIN right?

Don't know where U would get it, though. That's what we get carbon build-up out of M-16's with. |
