I'm planning on rebuilding my n/a. I checked with local dealers and they don't have any clue of what the hell i'm talkin bout. They say "well we have the gaskets and that's about it".....anyway anyone have advice on who i should get one from? or is the best price the way to go?

for all oem stuff try mazdaformance.com. If you are on a budget, a basic rebuild kit from atkinsrotary will work great. They are nice people to deal with.

ok since my main goal is to do a t2 convo. i'm just gonna flake out and only get what is needed to keep my car running without smoke over 4k. So, what exactly does this mean? i need to get coolent and oil seals correct? anything else guys?

anyone?

Most likely your oil seals are bad. You will need new oil o-rings and a gasket set. Both can be bought from atkins for less than $200.

coolent seals are needed also because when you rebuild they are ruined right? what do you mean by gasket set, between the housings and such?

the gasket set will include all o-rings and external gaskets including the coolant seals. While you have the motor apart you should replace all the springs anyway because they are relatively cheap. But you could reuse the oil seal springs and apex seal springs if they are within spec. You ought to replace the side seal and corner seal springs as they flatten out quickly.

Best to replace all the seals, better safe than sorry! Plus they really are not the expensive.

Were do all of you get your seals at? The best prices i have found for complete kits less apex seals is 5-600. Is there something im missing here, or are some people talking of partial kits? Ive seen the engine gasket set for 160, but that had no seals for the rotors at all. thanks, brad https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683561.gif

I am not sure what seals he meant. A full kit with new oil rings and all new hard seals, bearings is over $700. This may be cheap for some folks but too much for me.
