I can't remember where but I have read somewhere that it is not necessary to port exhaust on a street car. Is it possible ?

Sure if you don't mind very minimal gains, then it is possible. The first time you race the guy that took the extra time to port his exhaust, you WILL kick yourself in the *** multiple times.

The template is not necessary, but I do reccomend that you copy your port to a template for future reference.

i just want to add that whenever the factory makes a "faster" engine they give it 10degrees more exhaust port, they close it later.
