Cool

We just recently re-worked and rebuilt Tony Farkas' S5 13BT. It had previously dyno'd 475rwhp and 377ft/lbs then 499rwhp and 399ft/lbs torque shortly thereafter. Last week, we tore it down, replaced the soft-parts, and re-worked the exhaust and intake ports. Previously, he was running one of my earlier bridgeport setups (I've only been playing with BP's for about a year now) so we wanted to re-do them to the more up-to-date stuff that I do now. We spent 4 days on the car getting it all re-done and re-worked. Tony had the housings blasted and then powder coated red w/ sparkly silver on the irons and rotor housings respectively (I was initially against this but after seeing how it turned out I'm all for it!)

We're expecting this new setup to break into the low to mid 500's this go-around before it either explodes into chunks or gets rebuilt and re-done for something even more radical. Here's a few pictures of it including a link to some videos of it running.

Comparison of old BP porting to the 'Spec-X' half-BP scheme

Reworked the primary ports a bit

Both secondaries extend ported further w/ large BP eyebrows cut

Test fitting a rotor housing w/ chamfered edge for better BP cut flow

Assembling rotors with Rotary Aviation apex seals

Assembly #1

Assembly #2

Assembly #3

Ready to drop in

I sure am tired...

Grade me on my porting and assembly, Ito. Let me know if I get an A or an F. Comments welcome.

On the 4th picture down, where it shows the rotor housing on top of the end plate, did you Bevel the rotor housing at a 45 degree angle?

Yep. The idea was to mate it as closely as possible to the inside wall of the eyebrow cut.

I'm open to constructive criticism. What would help make it an A from a B-?

BDC, how about the whole list of what the engine has, injectors turbo etc etc. Looks good, sounds good, and I would venture to say the blue smoke will go away as it breaks in.
