Haven't posted pictures of any work in awhile and felt like doing so tonight. This motor was originally only going to be ported by me but wound up getting cleaned up and built as well over at my place. This is for Bruce Boulan's '87 FC that was in this past issue of RXTuner. Forgive me for the size of pictures as they weren't taken on my camera. Let me know what you guys think as I always welcome constructive criticism.

Rotors cleaned up with Zep, old bearings removed

Cutting new side seals using Judge Ito's recommendation (thanks Ito)

Cleaned up gears, new rear main seal, polished main and rotor bearings

Building front rotor

Polished bearings

Those rotors look real nice. I'll take your advice on the Zep for future rebuilds.

What is the red on the irons during assembly? I've just spread motor oil on them, as the instructions in the manual suggested. It appears that you use something else?

Thanks.

The "red" was Redline Assembly Lube which I ran out of during mid-rebuild. The other clear stuff is Eckerd's brand baby-fresh scented Vaseline aka petroleum jelly.

Thanks Exlex. I don't have many more but I do have a video of it when it was just started today. Bruce popped the motor in this afternoon and fired it up. It doesn't even have 20 miles on it as of this post so all it's doing is idling but you atleast get to hear it up-close.
