[quote name='ColinRX7' date='Aug 9 2005, 12:21 AM']Yeah that's what the exhaust will look like when blowing off excess thats in the combusion areas

Don't worry about it..

Worry about tuning an idle and driving before worrying about the smoke and stuff, it needs to burn off.

Oh also worry about the fact your secondary injectors "will fall out if you shake the rail".... ?

what's the deal there?

So should I let it run without the turbo for awhile to burn all that off? I guess I can just keep refilling the oil, it's getting pretty good distance shooting that **** out of the manifold. How long should I let it run like this? What's odd is that with the turbo on it will not run for more than about 15 seconds, yet without the turbo or UIM it runs forever. Does it sound like the ignition (leading coil, rotor 1) is not firing all the time to you?

The injectors are not secure in the rail alone, if that makes sense. They aren't pushed up into the rail very much at all because they can't be. IURC, they are Bosch 1680s modified to fit into the stock secondary rail. I took a pic showing where the o-ring is...is it supposed to be INSIDE the fuel rail?

No I mean put it back together, don't run it with the turbo off.. Just put it back together, worry about the secondary injectors, and making it run before you worry about the smoke

The main o-ring on the injectors should, yes, be in the fuel rail.

This buildup isn't going to harm the turbo at all?

When I took the downpipe off there was quite a bit of this mystery liquid in the vband section of the turbine...

Okay so put the turbo back on and try to get it to run as long as possible, hoping that it won't get damaged by all that fluid?

It's your call.. If it were me I'd put it back on... But it's your call and your money..

Frankly I think you are being oversensitive with it but that's understandable...

Thanks everyone for the continued advice...I'll try and get it to idle indefinitely with the turbo on.

Well I leaned out the map I'm running (one of the Hitman's) as much as 70% with the same results: with the injectors on, it might sputter once or twice. As soon as I turn them off, bam, starts right up and runs for about 15 seconds.

What gives?

I even have the TB butterflies open as far as possible.

I also tried other Hitman maps, even the base, and all of them have the same results.

2 idears

1. do what you've been doing but datalog it, maybe something will show up

2. unplug the fuel pump, start it and during that 15 seconds, plug the pump in and see what it does and report back

Here is my datalog file. I first enabled the injectors and it sputtered a few times...at around 30seconds I turned the injectors off and it started right up and ran for about 10 seconds.

I'll try the fuel pump thing now.
