Is This Normal?

As far as getting used used housings it shouldn't be no problem.
I live in Southern Cali. and there are plenty of shops where I can get them but would it be the best idea (the cheapest idea maybe) or just get new ones . But I am considering getting a monster street port on this engine. How can you tell if housings are still good
What would be best?????????

Yeah, I would agree, new housings. I'm not sure about the rechroming process as well as some of the other half baked ideas floating around out there.
id like the rechroming to work, but i'm not holding my breath

MAZDA spent a lot of R&D time on the housing coatings. It would be a stroke of luck if GLASSMAN got it right in 1 or 2 attempts. I wish him luck though.
Lets look at the RA seals. Good intentions, however the first batches were incorrectly dry-ground which has caused several failures. They went back and now the seals are Wet-lapped on a very expensive machine. Hopefully this will fix the problem. However; this progress has come at a price. They initially offered these at 135 /set. It has now escallated to 188/set (www.rotaryresources.com). They have lost the price adavantage that they had with the Atkins seals.
