You ass!..... I'm looking at your bare feet on the cement floor and thinking... "I wonder how long I could get away with that here in MN right about now.." About 10 seconds I'd guess. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png
You went with the 1.5'? I thought I told you to go with the 2" stuff? Look on the bright side, remember how you coulden't spool your turbo worth a ****? Kiss that problem good-by. I bet you also liked how the 1.5 formed into the divided T4 flange, like butter. I have to ask, where is the wastegate going? Got room off the turbine housing?? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png Looks great man, good to see the progress! |

Those be my brother's feet https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png ! Mine were buried in socks and shoes - I think i'm cold blooded. I was going to use the 2", but decided on the 1.5 to help spool. That's before I decided to port the engine https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png Now that it's ported i'm tempted to pick up some of the 2" piping and redo the manifold. It might be interesting to test them back to back to see how much of a difference there is... (probably means some tuning in between though, which gives me the creeps now with the amount of time / $$ into the motor!) I think i'll run the wastegate around the front of the engine - under the outlet (inlet?) tube for the water pump. That'll allow for a really nice "y' into the main runners. I'll aim the outlet up, put a 90* on it, and then 'y' it back into the DP. After all that, sticking it on the housing sounds a lot simpler, eh? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png |
FYI, it's snowing right now, so far today we have 4.5" Mr. Barefoot brother.
I'd say with larger runners you'd have to take away fuel in the lower revs and add fuel in the higher revs. If you have the room I'd run the WG right off the turbine housing. It sure would make your manifold(s) easier to make now woulden't it? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png |
What did you use to get it so clean?
|
4 cans of CRC Brakleen, a can of carb cleaner, chem-dip on the rotors, and new rotor housings https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

I'm sorry to sound new, but what kind of chemicals do you use for the dip? Thanks

it's called "Chemp Dip" by berryman, you can pick it up in a gallon can (looks like a big paint bucket) at autozone, $15/can takes 3.2 gallons and a 5 gallon bucket to do two rotors |
