On the left is the stock rear stationary gear bearing, on the right is the one Mazdaspeed sent me. I am very weary of using it, my stock one used a set screw and has a series of holes in it, I want to say 5-6 holes.
The Mazdaspeed one has 3 long slots and is better for engines living at or over 8K RPM.
Anyone know the stock part # for this bearing on a 1993 engine.
On a side note I am in a "discussion" with my mechanic over this, after reading the Mazdaspeed info on the bearing I feel we should use it he wants to use the stock OEM one feeling the Mazdaspeed one is old school and the OEM one will be better.
Opinions are welcome here.
Thanks
Jim

Personally I'd go with the Mazdaspeed one. If the stock one was better, Mazdaspeed would (should) have superceeded the part number. If I can find my FD parts manual, I'll get the part number for you. or try www.wankel.net/~krwright/files/manuals/ I think there's a FD manual there

Actually I got the Part # from Mike.
the problem is the Mazdaspeed one will not fit unless you modify it and that is just sillyness. Once I realized this it was a no brainer to go with the stocker, its already installed.
