hey guys my friend has a 13b pp block recently rebuilt and the inlet ports in the side plates havent been filled or blocked off.

can we just put plates across the ports or do we have to pull apart the engine and fill them with goo (devcon?) also if we block it off with plates will this affect the way the engine runs in any way?

cheers

Henry

The preferred method is to devcon them. Probably to stop unwanted turbulence. Havent tried without.

is there a way to devcon the plates without pulling the whole thing apart?

Not if you want to run the engine afterwards. It's messy stuff.

I have seen pictures of manifolds that block off the ports and read posts by people who have had no issues from simply doing so. The manifolds I am referring to are designed so the stock ports can either be used or unused in addition to the peripheral. I suppose you could block off the pp's for that matter also.

I did confer with one guy who had ran block off plates and upon tearing down the engine noticed no real buildup in the ports.

I don't think you will have issues.
