Hi Guys

I have been playing with some old plates, a dremel, and the RB porting templates. It's cool to have the templates for a rookie like me, but what about the side of the plates, where the intake manifold goes?

Here is a pic just in case nobody understand which part I am asking

Thanks goes to Cosmo Donk for the pic!

So how much do you port this area on a 91 13BT?

I already messed the center plate, since RB told me to port them exactly as the template, which turn out to hit the water jacket

So, any tips?

What I do is clean up the rough casting portion of the plates by using 60grit 1/2" by 1/2" sanding bands on the Dremel. I spend a good 15 minutes on each port tunnel and remove all of the roughness. This is 1/3 of the aspect of intake porting. The 2nd portion is re-shaping the port outlet on the nitrided surface side of the iron. The 3rd portion, and most important in my humble opinion, is the _transitioning_ phase of the charge moving from the tunnel to the outlet. I spent alot of time and focus on this.

Be sure to remove the injector diffusers before you go ram-rodding your Dremel into the primary port tunnels.
